my kids have been sleeping with their comforters for the last 6 years and truly love them - so much that we have to take them with us when traveling (which is no problem, given how much they compress). we did sow our own covers. I wash the comforters with a mild, free and clear detergent and then dry them on delicate-low in the dryer. They still look and feel like new after 6 years. our indoor temperature is between 60 and 70 F at night and the kids are comfortable sleeping with their blankets year round. I highly recommend this comforter.
